Fascias sit below the roof tiles and act as a barrier between the outside and the edge of the roof, it protects the roof and the inside of your home from weather damage.

Soffits are situated under the fascia boards and can be seen from ground level when you look up to the roofline.

Wooden fascias and soffits are prone to rot and crumble, with the weather conditions affecting them, plus they need regular maintenance to keep them functional.  The new upgrades are more durable, practical, functional and do not need regular maintenance. They help to keep birds and larger insects out of the roof space and prevent water ingress.  There are also choices of the type, style and colour. 

Vented soffits are also a welcome option since they allow for the air to circulate which helps prevent condensation from accessing the roofline/space.

There are many advantages for replacing the old wooden soffit boards. As roofing products/materials and building regulations update, they supercede the old materials. Most new builds now install the new soffit boards and older properties can be converted.

Fascias are usually upgraded at the same time, as are the gutters.
